What to wear

I often get asked for outfit ideas when it comes to photo sessions. And next to location, what you wear is a big part in making your photos look as best as possible. To make your photo stand out, and look as best as possible, here are my tips:

1. Coordinate!
I always prefer coordinating looks over matching exactly. That means using the same color style (bright, subdued, neon, primary, etc.) or color family (browns, blues, etc).

2. Avoid words or logos
Try to stick with solid colors or simple patterns. Words, pictures and logos can take away from the main subject (you!) and make the photo look too busy.

3. Plan colors around your location
Grassy/woody location? Avoid green clothing.
Snowy location? Avoid white.
You want to stand out (but still coordinate with) your background!

4. Wear something you're comfortable in
We do lots of moving, sometimes sitting on the ground, jumping in the air, you name it. If you feel comfortable, your photos will look natural!

5. Layer!
It adds dimension and options for subtle outfit changes.
